We require a passionate, engaging and energetic person to lead and oversee our SENCO / Te Whare Ako area, commencing at the beginning of 2025.
We are looking for someone that has a genuine passion for working with young people and the ability to contribute positively to the students that need SENCO support. The learning needs of Tuakau College students are also supported by a number of teaching assistants. Included in Te Whare Ako is a wellness area, which is designed to support students who need a place of calm to ensure they can then face the rigours of a school day.
The successful applicant will be collaborative, understand funding, be organised and will be involved in overseeing Te Whare Ako as the SENCO at Tuakau College as well as the organisation and overseeing of Teaching Assistants and ESOL. It would be an advantage to have NCEA and Unit Standards knowledge and prior experience in the SENCO area, have an understanding of neurodiversity, cultural competency and have the ability to engage with whānau and the school community.
If you think that this is the right role for you and you want to come and look around our awesome kura we’d be delighted to meet with you. Alternatively, please complete the application form on our website.
