Deputy principal / SENCO

We are a Y1–8 Catholic state integrated school in the heart of the North Island by the beautiful Lake Taupō. Due to a restructure, we are seeking an inspirational leader with a passion for Catholic faith-based education. The successful candidate will have proven experience in educational leadership.

Together, we innovate within a Catholic learning environment where all learners are inspired by their faith to learn, create and share with the world. 

We are looking for someone who:

• Leads effectively, with a focus on pastoral care and student wellbeing 
• Is data driven and focused on continuous improvement 
• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, whānau and the wider community
• Is courageous; open to difficult conversations and meetings; seeks and takes feedback
• Skilled and innovative teacher and leader who can ‘walk the talk’ and promote the school vision and values
• Has a strong understanding of culturally responsive pedagogy / te reo Māori, with a willingness to continue learning in this area
• Has effective time management skills  
• Is a team player willing to lead, support, and be involved in school and community events 
• Is able to teach one day a week if necessary.
