Due to roll growth in our Outreach Services, Mt Richmond Special School is seeking an experienced specialist teacher skilled in working with students with intellectual disabilities. This position will start as soon as possible within Term 3, 2024 or the beginning of Term 4, 2024. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and is passionate about supporting students in the Ongoing Resourcing Scheme (ORS) in mainstream schools. The Special Needs Outreach Teacher works as part of the student’s support team, which includes their class teachers, MOE Special Education staff, support staff and family/whanau.
The role may encompass a range of activities, including but not limited to:
Teaching, assessing and developing programmes for individual ORS students in mainstream schools
Monitoring progress and next steps
Modelling, supporting teachers and support staff
Contributing to IEPs, whanau meetings
Annual report

The base salary range for trained and registered teachers is dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience. An individual’s actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed. (See Part 3: Remuneration in the 2022-2025 PTCA collective agreement.)
