At Waatea our new entrant classroom is growing and we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our team in our transition space and new entrant classroom and support new learners' transition into school until the end of term 4.
The fixed-term position allows applicants to be flexible with days and times i.e. half days over 5 days, or up to 3 days a week e.t.c.
This role focuses on:
Routine and structure: Guiding learners through the routine and structure of school life.
Positive relationships: Building strong, supportive relationships with learners to boost their confidence and success.

A solution-focused mindset to address challenges and create a nurturing learning environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with learners, whānau, and colleagues.
A willingness to collaborate with staff with an emphasis on our kura values; manaakitanga, kotahitanga, rangatiratanga, and whanaungatanga.
Please note that the starting date is negotiable, ideally, we would love someone to join our team as soon as possible.
We strongly suggest interested applicants come and visit our small kura to get a feel for what our learning spaces are about.
