U8, 980+ students. Deputy principal: Student focus (7-9MU). Term 1, 2025 start.

Our roll continues to increase, so we are developing this new leadership portfolio to ensure we continue to be as effective as possible for all our kids and staff. We therefore have an exciting career opportunity for an ambitious, highly energised and competent aspiring principal to be our new deputy principal: Student focus who is already a caring, but strong (and not from a saviour perspective!), relational, culturally and emotionally intelligent individual!

You will believe in the power of working in close collaboration, therefore capable, and willingly, of working alongside/with, in a genuine and positive manner, our school-wide “Life care team”, which includes DP: Pastoral care, DP: Guidance and support, our self-funded counsellor, our two social workers (one self-funded/one MSD funded) and our Poutoko Hapori (community engagement coordinator), as well as proactively partnering/connecting with whānau/community. You will be capable of spearheading a positive, culturally and ethnically future-focussed support and wellbeing system for our kids, capable of maintaining positivity and optimism, as well as assisting staff to be even more culturally responsive/competent as we engage and support our awesome kids in this holistic and positive way.

You will be a firm believer that all kids have the capacity to learn, behave, participate and contribute, as well as having the ability to genuinely appreciate one another, wanting to work together to make our school a place where everyone feels a sense of belonging and community, whilst maintaining high expectations for achievement.

Relationships are at the forefront of our drive to improve student outcomes. Our kids need to feel ‘well-known’ and loved in order to engage with their learning. You will be highly visible everywhere, with highly effective experience/strength in a specific curriculum area, capable of leading this school-wide.
