This is becoming a nice habit – with Ross making 19! Since 2009, 19 leaders have left Manurewa Intermediate to lead their own schools! Our loss is Pukekohe North School’s gain; therefore, we have another exciting career opportunity for an ambitious, highly energised and competent aspiring principal.

You will already have had some leadership experience (it would be great if your teaching background encapsulated the whole spectrum from juniors up), with a real passion and strength in reading and writing as you will be leading our specialist humanities team of 14 teachers. Do you have any knowledge/competencies in growth coaching/have a growth mindset, knowing you can learn on the job?

This is a vital role within our leadership team, being both a mentor and coach of teachers, supporting them to be better by nurturing, enabling, and empowering them, whilst valuing their thoughts/ideas.

You will be highly visible in classes, working alongside and with teachers, capable of building collaborative, trusting and positive relationships. Calm and encouraging, with superior personal classroom practice, you will be a passionate, genuine believer in a well-rounded, balanced curriculum that is not just about reading, writing and math.

Everyone in our school values energy and passion, active participants, possessing a sense of humour deliberately used to assist effective practise and leadership. We look forward to working with a new leader who has initiative, is excited about learning, is highly organised/efficient, is not a ‘clock watcher’, and knowledgeable about modern teaching and learning pedagogies.
