We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher of Year Nine and Ten subjects for our well-resourced Y1-13 Area School. We are in a rural town situated in the beautiful East Coast, north from Gisborne.
Ngata Memorial College is a long-established school located in the heart of Ngati Porou, Ruatoria. All the students affiliate to the iwi which provides strong contexts for learning. Our school has a supportive family-like atmosphere. We have small class sizes and willing students. School housing is available at a subsidised rate. Our school is growing rapidly and has had a 50% increase in numbers over the last four years.
We are excited at the opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic, innovative and caring teacher with great interpersonal and teaching skills to teach in our school. The successful applicant must be passionate about children, lifting their learning achievement and enhancing their well-being. Applicants should teach one subject to NCEA Level 3 and the ability to teach a second subject would be beneficial. As an Area school subject allocation can be very flexible, for example our Science teacher also teaches NCEA Dance.
Our teachers receive both the Isolation and the High Priority Teacher Supply Allowances. A management unit may be available for a suitable candidate.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Area Schools' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $59,027 to $99,216, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
