We seek a passionate and energetic kaiako to teach te reo Māori from Y7–13. The successful applicant will be instrumental in supporting the development and enhancement of school-wide Māori education strategies, including local curriculum and the promotion of the use of te reo and tikanga Māori throughout our school.
Applicants may be primary or secondary trained, and will be joining a kura on a journey to make the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi a reality for our school community. You will be active in continuing our development of a local curriculum while effectively using digital technology to enhance the learning experience of our students. Involvement and support of kapa haka.
Applicants need to be familiar with the Te Aho Arataki Marau mō te ako i te reo Māori - Kura Auraki/Curriculum Guidelines for Teaching and Learning Te Reo Māori in English-medium Schools or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.
