Head of learning mathematics

Westland High School is seeking a dynamic and motivated head of learning area to lead our very experienced team of mathematicians. The learning area has a strong reputation within the community for success and diligent support of students through effective planning, preparation and classroom pedagogy. Complementing this is our Maths Club that provides superb additional support for students. 

The successful candidate may be new to middle leadership with an established reputation of highly effective classroom practice leading to student success. The next challenge for them is to develop into an effective curriculum leader which we will support. Alternatively, they may be a middle leader with experience who is ready for the challenge of being a Head of Learning Mathematics. Regardless of previous experience, they will be flexible and adaptable, willing to take on and implement new ideas whilst upholding the values of the School and advancing the aspirations of our students.

The successful applicant must be a NZ registered teacher. We are a Manaiakalani digital school who embrace technology and digital affordances. To be successful in this role you will need:
