About the role:

As regional education leader, you will be effectively managing a small, diverse group of lecturers to deliver high-quality teacher education programmes. You will lead and facilitate community networking, attract and retain students and members and facilitate professional learning and development initiatives and other events. Promoting and maintaining positive relationships with local Kaumatua, iwi and ECE stakeholders and providing pastoral care for locally based students will also be key to your success.

As REL your role will include a research component giving you the opportunity to tie your Masters or PhD study to your role and contribute to our research strategy.   

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven professional leadership/management skills
  • Experience teaching and/or mentoring adults at tertiary level
  • A master’s degree in education or higher teaching qualifications
  • Early childhood education sector experience
  • Teacher registration and a current practicing certificate essential
  • Sound knowledge, commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • A current full driver's license and vehicle for work use.
