Hamilton Christian School, a state-integrated coeducational Christian school, seeks a passionate hard materials teacher for junior secondary and secondary schools. The ideal candidate will have a strong woodworking background and inspire students in practical and creative projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in hard materials technology.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage students' creativity and problem-solving abilities.
• Assess and report on students' progress.
• Maintain and manage classroom tools and materials.
• Uphold and promote the Christian values of our school community.

Qualifications and experience:

• Relevant teaching qualification and current NZ teacher registration.
• Strong knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and NZQA framework.
• Experience in teaching hard materials technology.
• Strong practical skills in woodworking and design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
• Commitment and passion for Christian education.

Eligibility:

Only applicants who can legally live and work in New Zealand, with either NZ residency or a valid work visa, will be considered.

The position is permanent, part-time (0.7 to 0.9 FTE), with a possibility of full-time if combined with another technology subject. A start date during the 2024 school year is possible.
