Atawhai Childcare is a Rotorua community-based centre, which prides itself on building strong relationships with the local whānau and supporting our wider community. Atawhai Childcare believe in fostering tamariki learning through play-based activity and utilising interests to shape cognitive development. As a kaiako you will play a pivotal role in the development of our tamariki and be part of a great team, to create an engaging and nurturing learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes learning through play and exploration, encompassing the key teachings of Te Whāriki.
• Create a safe and supportive environment that encourages children's social, emotional and cognitive development.
• Collaborate with kaimahi to plan and evaluate programmes that meet the individual needs of tamariki.
• Communicate effectively with parents/whānau, providing regular updates on their tamariki.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.

You need:

• An ECE or primary (Level 7+) teaching qualification.
• Current NZ teachers' registration provisional/full.
• Must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident.
