Daisies is looking for an experienced and (preferably) ECE qualified teacher who is interested in being a pedagogical coach to our less experienced teachers. You will have a passion and enthusiasm for working at Daisies. You will be working closely with the head teacher helping to design and implement the curriculum, and as a second person responsible.

Daisies has a strong focus on learning for all, including our teachers. Three times each year we meet for a full day of professional development, including one overnight retreat. Our patron Dr Anne Meade plays an important role at these wānanga, alongside our leadership team and guest speakers.

We are looking for a key teacher and education leader for "Te Pihinga" house. Te Pihinga means young plant; our tamariki range in age from 3 to 5 years. Most children at Te Pihinga are initially enrolled next door at Te Purapura.

Daisies was created 16 years ago with a vision of intentionally applying best practice in ECE – drawn from research and observations from Anne Meade and Rachel Denee, our lead pedagogistas. We are known for our Reggio inspired curriculum, our Nature Explore programme (we are Enviroschools Silver) and our loving and thoughtful intentional teaching practice.

In our 2022 ERO report we were rated Excelling or Sustaining in all categories! Visitors to Daisies comment on the richness of conversations between kaiako and children, and the strong focus on continuous learning for all centred around whole centre investigations.

Benefits include:

  • At least 4 hours non-contact time pw (more for education leaders).
  • Strong commitment to environmental sustainability including subsidised public transport.
  • Discounted childcare for staff, and contribution to teacher registration costs.
  • Wellness benefits, and fast access to sick leave.
  • Certified extended pay parity compliant.
  • A strong focus on distributed leadership with leadership opportunities.
  • Extensive parent engagement through workshops and StoryPark.
