Early childhood kaiako

Te Pahu Preschool Group is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate kaiako who has a love of the outdoors and messy play.

We are a small, non-profit community-led organisation with a big space and big dreams.

We have adapted our unique local curriculum to empower our kaiako to work smarter, not harder.

We have regular excursions, including weekly trips for our four-year-olds' Forest School programme and termly whole-of-preschool field trips based on our group learning topic. 

The ideal candidate is someone who is willing to grow alongside us and advocate for the learning opportunities that an authentically localised curriculum can provide. 

Second and third-year university students studying towards a degree that will lead to certification with the Teaching Council are encouraged to apply. 

Experience and qualifications are a plus, but not essential. 

Unfortunately, at this stage, we are not an accredited employer and are therefore not able to support overseas teachers. Aroha mai.
