Te Kura Kaupapa Motuhake o Tawhiuau is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated pouako to join our team. A commitment to raising Māori achievement is essential, incorporating our special designated character Ngāti Manawatanga as our kura is a pioneer school with “Culturalcy” our own innovation as our point of difference.
Te Kura Kaupapa Motuhake o Tawhiuau the first Kura ā Iwi of it’s kind is situated in Murupara 65 kms south of Rotorua nestled at the foot of the majestic dominant Tawhiuau, the ancestral maunga of Ngāti Manawa, the tallest peak amongst the Ika Whenua range.
The successful applicant will have proven experience in educational leadership preferably within a Kura ā Iwi setting and demonstrate the following attributes;
Commitment to the kura’s special designated character Ngāti Manawatanga.
Strong understanding of pedagogy, assessment and Ngāti Manawatanga integration.
High expectations for achievement and behavioural standards.
Ability to foster a positive and inclusive culture.
Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
Dedicated, hospitable, generous and capable who put the best interests of uri first and foremost.
Fluency in Te Reo Māori.
A willingness to learn and embrace change.
Start date will be by negotiation with the Acting Tumuaki, Vivienne Higgins.
