Deputy Principal (Pastoral)

We are looking for someone who:

• Leads effectively, with a focus on pastoral care and student wellbeing 
• Is data driven and focussed on continuous improvement 
• Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, whanau and the wider community
• Is courageous; open to difficult conversations and meetings; seeks and takes feedback
• Skilled and innovative teacher and leader who can ‘walk the talk’ and promote the school vision and values
• Has a strong understanding of culturally responsive pedagogy /Te reo Māori, with a willingness to continue learning in this area
• Has effective time management skills  
• Is a team player willing to lead, support, and be involved in school and community events 

There is a small teaching component associated with this position, which is negotiated and reviewed yearly. The teaching component for 2024 has been 0.2-0.4.
