Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is seeking an inspiring and dedicated teacher to join the team at Parihaka Kindergarten, Whangārei.
Parihaka kindergarten is centrally located, nestled halfway up Mount Parihaka. The kindergarten provides opportunities for exploration within a spacious attractive and well-resourced outdoor natural setting.
The teaching team’s aspiration for their attending ākonga is for them to have a strong self-belief, socially and emotionally competent and to see themselves as change makers. The kindergarten has bronze Enviroschool status. This kaupapa is woven throughout the curriculum that they offer.

Parihaka Kindergarten has a team of 5 teachers and a part time administrator. The kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday, catering for a roll of 40 children between two and six years of age. Parihaka Kindergarten operates an All-Year Model, 48 weeks per year. This 20-hour per week position will have varying daily hours.
Parihaka Kindergarten is part of a network of 25 kindergartens within the NKA. The kindergarten is supported by professional practice and management teams. NKA adheres to the employment conditions as offered in the Kindergarten Teacher, Head Teachers, and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement 2023–2026.
Applicants must hold a recognised New Zealand ECE qualification (minimum Dip Teaching ECE), current practicing certificate and first aid certificate.
