About the role:  

This is a permanent part-time position working 27½ hours per week Monday–Friday from 9am–3pm.   

At BestStart Montessori The Gardens are lucky to have three, character buildings which provide spacious indoor and outdoor learning environments for our children. Our large, well established and sunny garden provides an expansive space for our tamariki to explore, challenge and learn.

This position is to support a growing role within the centre. The successful applicant will be working in all three rooms within the centre, covering breaks and lunches. This position would be perfect for a newly graduated kaiako as it offers experience working with children of all ages.  

Role requirements:  

  • BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification  
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning  
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whāriki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices.
