A rare opportunity has become available to join our privately owned Nature Kids whānau. Our beautiful natural environments reflect our passion to nurture children in nature and beauty.

Nature Kids have been in the community for 13 years and are well-known for our kaiako’ long service to the centre, and great relationships with our whānau and tamariki. 

Your role:

We are looking for a permanent kaiako to work with our 0–2-year-old pepi. Our Ngaio room has 12 pepi with 4 key kaiako.

Relationships will matter to you. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the development and emotional needs of babies and toddlers, with an in-depth knowledge of Te Whāriki.

This position is 28-32 hours/week permanent hours, working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Foster positive relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
  • Assess and document tamariki learning journeys
  • Collaborate with kaiako to create enriching learning environments. 

Qualifications and key requirements:

  • BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current teacher registration/certification
  • Experience working in an ECE service in New Zealand is essential
  • Experience working with infants in an early childhood education setting or are keen to move into this area
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning.
