Key responsibilities:
Lead and inspire the mathematics team to implement a forward-thinking and engaging maths curriculum
Foster a learning environment that encourages innovation, critical thinking, and a passion for mathematics
Support the professional growth of team members through coaching, mentoring and collaboration
Champion culturally responsive practices that respect and incorporate the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of our students.
Ideal candidate:
Proven experience in teaching mathematics with a track record of success in leadership roles
Strong understanding of the New Zealand mathematics curriculum and current educational best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and the community
Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices and an inclusive learning environment
Commitment to the values of whaimana, whaiora, and whaiara, and to fostering a school culture that reflects these principles.
