Respectful, kind, flexible kaiako

Are you looking to be valued? Want to be part of something special? We are searching for a respectful, passionate team member to join our team over the next 5 months.

Someone flexible to move between our rooms to help support the team covering long extended leave. This kaiako will move between the infants and toddler room and the preschool room. We strive to enact our philosophy, which is born from relationships – equal partnerships between children, caregivers, whānau, community, and the environment. These relationships are established within a culture of kindness, through caregiving moments, rituals, our daily interactions and mutual respect.

We are a privately owned centre whose centre owner is very much involved and has many years of experience. Our centre is a community within the grounds of North Shore Hospital and we are passionate about the philosophies of Reggio Emilia and Emmi Pikler and have a hunger for continued learning.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be flexible
  • Demonstrate great communication skills
  • Role model our values within their practice
  • Be authentic, respectful and joyful
  • Understands respectful practice in action
  • Be able to have open dialogue and collaborate with your team
  • Love to reflect, learn and collaborate – learning is a journey.

In return we offer:

  • A culture of kindness
  • A brilliant supportive management team
  • Lots of support into and through your learning journey
  • A centre whose mission is to empower and inspire everyone to learn together
  • An environment that feels like a home-away-from-home and a centre that lives and breathes its philosophy.

The right applicant must find delight in reflection, work collaboratively, value real connection and have a hunger for learning. Our new team member will currently reside in NZ and be a registered qualified kaiako. We cannot accept applications from overseas kaiako.
