Mō te tūnga - About the role:

  • Develop and Deliver Engaging Learning Programmes and Resources: Create, design, and present interactive and compelling education content tailored to various audiences, enhancing their understanding of civics and citizenship
  • Facilitate Professional Development: Design, co-ordinate and conduct high-quality professional development workshops for public servants, parliamentary staff, and teachers
  • Support Regional Outreach: Organise and execute impactful regional outreach initiatives, bringing Parliament to schools and community groups nationwide

Ko koe tēnei - About you:

  • Be a Skilled Communicator: Possess exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, relatable manner
  • Have Education Experience: Ideally, you have a background in teaching or experience in LEOTC (Learning Experiences Outside the Classroom) and ability to exercise a range of behaviour management strategies for diverse audiences
  • Understand the New Zealand Curriculum: Have a familiarity with the New Zealand Curriculum and contemporary teaching practices
  • Embrace Te Reo and Tikanga Māori: Be dedicated to enhancing your knowledge of te reo Māori and tikanga and supporting others in their learning journey. Fluency in Te Reo would be highly valued

The appointing base salary for this role is $79,517 to $86,072 per annum.
