Team leader- preschool

We are excited to begin the search for a new preschool team leader at our amazing centre in Matangi! 

As a team leader you will ideally have experience leading a team, be warm and respectful, a team player, great at building relationships, and creating a fun, professional working environment. This position is working with our 3.5–5 year olds in a team of 3-4 teachers.

Country Gate is an owned and operated centre. We are a rural centre only 12 minutes from both Hamilton and Cambridge. We have ample outdoor space including animals and a paddock. Our tamariki are encouraged to explore the natural world through play as we learn about who we are, where we are from, and what we are capable of achieving. We run a weekly Bush Day programme that our preschool team are all part of. 

As a team leader you will be supporting a team of passionate teachers, fostering a respectful and nurturing environment to enhance quality practice. Hours are rostered between 7.30am to 5.30pm.

We cover first aid and registration costs, as well as a supportive mentoring programme. We do all we can to make sure that Country Gate provides a really great working environment, and that our team are happy! 

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of teachers to deliver high-quality education and care.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that foster holistic child development.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment for preschool children.
• Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers to support the educational journey of each child.
• Build strong relationships with the local schools
• Oversee daily operations including; supervision and compliance with regulatory standards.
