Are you interested in teaching in a small, rural school with students who love being at school, are keen to excel, and enjoy hands-on learning and being active? Just a 20 minute drive south of Rotorua, through rolling pasture, you will arrive at Ngakuru School.
Our school has a strong sense of community. We have approximately 60 amazing tamariki spread across three classes, who are well supported by our dedicated staff and their parents and whanau. We are committed to ensuring that our space is a caring, fun-loving environment for both students and teachers.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our Ngakuru School team to cover maternity leave, from the beginning of term 4, 2024. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to cover the whole 12 months, but we can be flexible around this for the right person.
The successful applicant will be:
Part of a small, supportive staff who work hard but also value work-life balance
Well-versed in the NZ Curriculum and what kiwi kids need to thrive at school
Able to provide rich and authentic learning opportunities in a supportive, engaging environment
Able to demonstrate inclusive practice when working with students with diverse needs
Relationship-focused and strong in forming authentic relationships and collaborating with learners, staff, whanau and the wider community.
Junior and middle primary school experience and strengths in multi-level teaching would be an advantage.
Please outline any relevant experience and strengths in your application. Completed application form, CV, and any enquiries should be emailed to: Rachel Weinberg; email principal@ngakuru.school.nz
