We are a family-owned childcare centre located in Cambridge. Our centre is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive. We believe in creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere where every child feels valued and respected.
We are seeking a dedicated and (ideally) experienced centre manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all tamariki, kaiako and the wider community.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the childcare centre, ensuring a high standard of care and education
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators, promoting professional development and teamwork
- Implement and maintain a quality curriculum program following the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum (Te Whāriki)
- Build strong relationships with families, ensuring open communication and a collaborative approach to their tamaiti’s development
- Maintain compliance with all licensing criteria, health and safety standards, and centre policies
- Oversee administrative tasks, including managing enrolments and staffing rosters
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children and whānau
Qualifications:
- A graduate diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (level 7).
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a leadership role within an early childhood setting (ideally)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Te Whāriki and the licencing criteria
