Ōpōtiki Kāhui Ako leadership role

The Ōpōtiki Kāhui Ako is advertising for an external person to lead our Kāhui Ako for the next two years. 

This is an exciting leadership opportunity, working across the Ōpōtiki education sector. 

The attributes we are looking for in our next Ōpōtiki Kāhui Ako Leader are:

• Past leadership experience in a school
• Knowledge of and interest in Ōpōtiki and Te Whakatōhea
• Ability to work with whānau and iwi
• Proven record of working across primary and /or secondary education sectors
• Knowledge of our achievement challenges and skills to implement improvement strategies
• Proven record of developing and maintaining relational trust
• The ability to analyse and identify trends in achievement data
• Can communicate effectively, both face to face and in writing to all schools in our rohe
• Can work 2 days a week in Ōpōtiki
• Proven ability to work with educational sectors - Kura Auraki, Kura Kaupapa Māori
• Can work with a range of personalities and leadership styles to bring a sense of unity and cohesion within the Kāhui Ako
• A community minded person who is a giver to their community, wherever they live and can articulate this
• A positive person who is confident enough to visit all kura on a regular basis and attend staff hui and lead discussion amongst staff in regards to Kāhui Ako issues and updates
• A person who is well organised and is able to give regular written monthly reports on what they have done and where to in the future.
