Our passionate, established team at Frimley Park Kindergarten are looking for an articulate, fun loving kaiako to join them. 

This role could be full (1.0/40 hours) or part (0.75/30 hours) time.

At Frimley Park Kindergarten, tamariki are affirmed as individuals who are free to creatively learn through play in a calm, positive, social, and dynamic cultural context.  Meaningful and respectful relationships between whānau, tamariki, kaiako, and our community is the heart of our philosophy. We honour whānau/parents as first teachers. Manaakitanga, Hauora and Ako are embedded pou that are integrated in our daily practices, language, kaupapa and environment.

This position could suit kaiako at the early stages of their teaching journey, or kaiako who are wanting to share their knowledge and/or develop leadership skills in the day to day operational/compliance aspects of a kindergarten.  

You will bring:

  • Commitment and drive to strengthen our Te reo Māori me ngā tikanga
  • Positivity, energy, and management of one’s own wellbeing.
  • Ability to develop responsive relationships within the community.
  • Initiative in problem solving and growing own knowledge and skills.
  • A passion and/or strength in documenting children’s learning journeys as a key teacher and being open-minded to work collaboratively within hui and collegial support.
  • Articulate what children’s play means to you, and an awareness of diverse early childhood philosophies.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Honest and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant teaching qualification
  • Current teaching registration
