Assistant Principal–learning support and enrichment (SENCO)

Position: Assistant principal with SENCO and enrichment responsibilities

Location: Auckland’s North Shore

Key responsibilities:

• Lead learning support and student programmes
• Oversee IEPs and transitions for learning support students
• Identify at-risk students and monitor progress
• Build relationships with students, teachers, parents, and external support agencies
• Manage 12-15 teacher aides, including appointments, timetables, PD, and appraisals
• Handle the learning support budget and report to the BOT
• Develop an enrichment programme that caters for gifted and talented students.

Requirements:

• Experienced leader
• Post-grad qualifications in special education (advantageous)
• Registered with the New Zealand Teaching Council and have the right to work in NZ
• Start in term 4 with a term’s handover with the current SENCO.
