HIBS is a progressive Y7 to 13 state integrated kura wholeheartedly committed to serving the best interests of our ākonga, their whānau and our community. We are committed to providing top-quality education for our ākonga and have a reputation for outstanding academic achievement.
As a young kura in Aotearoa New Zealand, we uphold the mana of our ākonga and their whānau as they develop as strong future ambassadors of Aotearoa New Zealand. We have no international students. All ākonga are introduced to te reo Māori at Y7 and can select this as a course option through to Y13. Students are also offered the opportunity to participate and contribute as valued members of our Kapa Haka.
As a kura, we are on our journey towards becoming a more biculturally responsive school fostering our responsibilities to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We have an active Rōpū Whānau who are committed to uplifting the teaching and learning. Within our unique special character kura, you will contribute to our community of kaiako and ākonga to ensure that our school values of Hōnore, Pono, Whakapono and Rato are modelled and imbedded.
We seek a passionate and enthusiastic kaiako reo Māori who will share in the schools drive for student success; is willing to uphold the unique special character and will actively be involved in the wider life of our kura, developing excellent leaders of āpōpō.
