Guidance counsellor

Newlands College, situated in Wellington, is a vibrant coeducational institution dedicated to fostering the development of confident, creative ākonga who are deeply connected to both their school and community. We are seeking a NZAC registered and qualified guidance counsellor to support our students/ākonga and whānau.

You will join another full-time counselor and take a role within the pastoral care system, working closely with senior leadership, deans, teaching staff, and external agencies to ensure quality pastoral care and inclusive education for all our students.

The successful candidate will relate well to rangatahi and be able to build trusted relationships to ensure that all ākonga thrive at Newlands College and make the most of their educational opportunities.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience with a variety of counselling tools and a desire to make a difference.
