In this role you will be working in a purpose-built food technology building, offering two specialty teaching specific kitchens, a walk-in fridge/freezer, an extensive pantry, gallery windows, dining room, herb gardens and a barista server. Encompassing 24 commercial mini-kitchens with commercial ovens, combi-ovens, salamanders and interactive display and teaching screens, this is a state of the art teaching environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging curriculum in food technology for students of varying abilities from year 7-13.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm.
Plan and conduct practical lessons in our well-equipped kitchen facilities.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in food technology and integrate them into your teaching.
Comply and enforce health and safety expectations across the faculty.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Ideally have a degree in food technology, home economics, or a related field, or relevant practical experience alongside another degree subject matter.
Teaching certification or equivalent experience in education.
Strong knowledge of food science, nutrition, and culinary skills.
