Are you passionate about early childhood education? Do you have a desire to lead and inspire a team dedicated to nurturing young minds? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

Michael Park Kindergarten values the fostering and development of each child through creative play, nature-based learning, and a strong sense of community. Our philosophy is inspired by the education principles of Rudolf Steiner, emphasising the importance of imagination in learning, and the integration of practical, and artistic activities through play. This is reflected in a holistic curriculum based on Rudolf Steiner’s educational ideas and guided by Te Whāriki, the early childhood curriculum for Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the kindergarten
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for tamariki
  • Work collaboratively with kaiako, staff, and parents to support the children's developmental needs
  • Oversee planning and implementation in line with Steiner pedagogy
  • Manage administrative tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and compliance with regulations
  • Foster a positive and inclusive community atmosphere.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Understanding of Steiner pedagogy and the indications of early childhood development is preferred with a willingness to continually deepen your understanding through professional development
  • Previous experience in early childhood education or management is preferred
  • ECE or Primary Teaching qualification or overseas equivalent (level 7 or above) and a New Zealand valid teachers’ registration
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • A genuine passion for working with young tamariki and their whānau.

We look forward to hearing from you and exploring how you can contribute to our vibrant and nurturing educational environment.
