Titiro Whakamua Early Childhood Education Centre is a beautifully designed community-based centre established to support the Titiro Whakamua Teen Parent School, which is a secondary school education facility for teen parents in the Hutt Valley.

We are mixed-age centre of up to 30 tamariki 0-5-years of age, open from 8am-3.30pm. We close for term breaks.

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds a Bachelor/Diploma for Education Teaching (ECE) and is fully certificated
• Effectively uses their knowledge of Te Whāriki to implement socio-cultural processes for assessment and curriculum implementation, based on Noticing, Recognising and Responding that supports tamariki as life-long learners
• Will support the team in designing and implementing culturally responsive approaches that reflect the local community and te Tiriti of Waitangi partnership
• Works flexibly, responsively and inclusively in a diverse community, through valuing the diversity and uniqueness of all learners
• Has effective strategies for supporting children’s social and emotional competency
• Ability to work co-operatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices.
