Leader of food and hospitality

We are seeking an enthusiastic leader of food and hospitality with the ability to lead NCEA Level 2 and 3 programmes. This leadership role carries with it 1MU and 1MMA and involves working with the curriculum leader of technology to ensure the effective running of the food and hospitality spaces.

Ormiston Senior College is a Y11-13 only school, with a focus on student agency and personalised learning.

Key aspects of the role include:

•  Support the CL with alignment of specific curricula goals and targets
• Managing resources and people related to food and hospitality in conjunction with the CL to meet the needs of students’ learning outcomes
• Fulfill NCEA requirements as determined by the CL and PN
• Assist with development of teaching and learning of food technology and hospitality in the curriculum area in conjunction with the CL
• Develop and maintain an engaging and positive teaching and learning environment
• Contribute to curriculum innovation and development
• Taking collective responsibility as part of the technology curriculum team
• Supporting the CL to implement school vision, values, norms and goals within technology
•  Supports leadership in curricular networks
•  Support the CL to ensure the effectiveness of school systems
•  Supports the values of OSC and promote the experience of students
•  Supports the CL by taking responsibility to ensure the kitchen meets the health and safety regulations.

All members of our teaching staff are also learning advisors who support and guide a group of students in their pathways and academic success.
