About the role:  

Beststart Fendalton are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic head teacher who is passionate about working with any age, but especially 2-3-year-olds (as our Preschool Room is mixed-aged with 2-5-years-olds). 

Our successful applicant will need to be:

  • Experienced working in a leadership role in an ECE setting or be confident they are ready to step into a leadership role
  • Bubbly, outgoing, kind, patient, and able to show initiative
  • Excellent with time management skills (staying up-to-date with planning and documentation)
  • Able to build strong inter-team relationships as well as with parents and whānau.

Role requirements: 

  • BEd/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification 
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum 
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whāriki and hold compliance in a high regard  

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours, between 7.30am-5.30pm, Monday-Friday.
