Principal

Ponatahi Christian School (PCS) is looking to appoint our next principal. This role is a rare and exciting opportunity, particularly if you are passionate about living and applying your faith through leadership and service in education.  

PCS - is a composite school, ranging from new entrants, Y1 through to Y13 and has a maximum role of 145 students. PCS is located in the country town of Carterton, Wairarapa district, New Zealand.  

We seek a principal with strong Christian convictions who will diligently and prayerfully lead teaching staff and students as well as the school community into the schools next season and beyond. This is an opportunity for direct and meaningful influence in the application of the Christian faith through inspiring and directing staff and influencing students.

We are looking for a principal who will demonstrate: 

• A willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the school to uphold the special character. These requirements are a condition of appointment
• A strong personal faith commitment so as to protect and enhance the special character of the school 
• Strong leadership and people skills, with a talent for effectively connecting and communicating with the school community  
• Committed to high education outcomes across all aspects of learning and development 
• Effective communication skills and experience building a strong and cohesive team through collaborative leadership  
• A commitment to fostering the ongoing growth and development of all staff, enabling students to fulfil their potential, and creating a positive impact on the wider community through the school’s efforts.
