Are you passionate about the role of music in student’s lives and how this can be nurtured to provide ongoing opportunities and engagement within the performing arts? We are seeking an experienced music teacher to teach our Y7-13 curriculum music programme here at St Peter’s School, Cambridge.
St Peter’s is one of New Zealand’s leading independent secondary schools, providing a first-class education for 1,200 students, including co-educational boarding for 350 students from New Zealand and around the world. An understanding of NCEA and/or IB Music curriculum is essential to this role as well as specific instrumental skills to lead junior music programmes. A commitment to the co-curricular life at St Peter’s would be an expectation from the successful candidate.
The position is for a 0.7 FTE, with the potential to discuss a full-time opportunity. This role is to start in term 4 or by negotiation for the appropriate candidate. Please specify instruments of specialty.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in music or a related field
Teacher certified
Enthusiasm for educating and mentoring students
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
