Learning support coordinator

We are looking for someone to join our amazing, supportive and collaborative network of LSC's in the Horowhenua!

 

Levin Intermediate will be the employing school for this position, so experience at this level would be beneficial.

 

This position is permanent full-time teaching equivalent (FTTE) using the Primary Teachers Collective or the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement, depending on Teaching Qualifications.

 

We are looking for an experienced teacher holding a (Full) current practising certificate, who has the ability to manage learning support (in some instances) across multiple schools, drawing together whanau, agencies, specialists, and ECE sectors by working within a delivery model which is at the forefront of learning support.

 

 

Learning support coordinators will work alongside schools to help identify and meet the needs of all learners in our Kahui , and work to build the capability of kaiako. This is a coordinating role (rather than a teaching role) but requires the successful applicant to work alongside kaiako, Principals, SENco agencies, whanau, iwi, and support the development of teacher practice in working with children and young people with a range of learning needs. 

 

The successful applicant will be expected  work together as a network with other LSCs in our Kahui Ako, sharing knowledge, and expertise across the rohe and may work alongside an Across School Teacher (AST) with a designated inquiry focus of our LSC Network. The successful LSC may run programmes and work with individuals or groups in consultation with the Employing Principal/SLT/LSC Network and coordinator.
