Regional Pacific leadership advisor (secondment 12-24 months)
We welcome applications for the regional leadership advisor role with specific responsibility for supporting Pacific Principals within Tāmaki Makaurau. This fixed term role is for 12, 18 or 24 months, negotiable with the preferred candidate. While based in Tāmaki Herenga Manawa, Auckland Central and East, you will provide support to Pacifica Principals across Tāmaki Makaurau.
You will be an experienced current Pacific Principal or be recently retired (preferably in the last 12 months). Applicant's current and/or recent terms of employment and remuneration will apply.
As a leadership advisor you will work alongside Pacific Principals/Tumuaki in English medium settings and continue the work of this year’s advisor as you work within an iterative cycle of inquiry on the ongoing development of these roles and the programme.
The primary focus of these roles is on supporting and building leadership capability in schools and kura as we know that the quality of leadership is key to improving outcomes for all students.
These roles are unique opportunities to support other Pacific Principals across the Tāmaki region, see and share best practice and experience being a member of the team at Te Mahau. You’ll return to your school with fresh leadership insights and a greater understanding of how the Ministry of Education operates.
The leadership advisor reports to the Regional Director of Education, is in the leadership team and works alongside an integrated team within Te Mahau to support schools and school leaders.
You will also be supported nationally by a chief advisor located in Te Pou Ohumahi Mātauranga | Education Workforce and by the network of other leadership advisors.
