Senior teacher – health, physical education and physical training

This position is for a permanent, full-time senior teacher of health, physical education and physical training, commencing in term 1 of 2025. 

Vanguard is a highly regarded special character, senior secondary school based in Albany on the North Shore. The school has an approximate roll of 192 students, with an outstanding attendance and academic achievement record. 

The position is for a highly motivated and experienced teacher who enjoys working in an environment where the systems, processes and protocols are deeply ingrained and finely tuned for effective student management.

The position requires the following skills:

• Experience teaching NCEA Levels 1 to 3.
• Has good subject and curriculum knowledge.
• Has good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong pastoral care is required.
• Must want to teach in a structured, disciplined and well organised environment.
• Military style leadership experience is an advantage.
