Regional leadership advisor (secondment 12-24 months)
Applications are invited for the role of the regional leadership advisor. This fixed-term role will be for a minimum of 12-months (up to 2 years by arrangement). You will be based in one of the Te Mahau offices within this region.
Applicants are encouraged from primary, area and secondary school Principals for this role. All advisors will work across the sector.
You will be an experienced current school Principal or be recently retired (within the last 12 months). Applicant's current /most recent terms of employment and remuneration will apply.
The primary focus of these roles is on supporting and building leadership capability in schools and kura as we know that the quality of leadership is key to improving outcomes for all students.
As a leadership advisor you will work alongside Principals and continue to support school leaders within an iterative cycle of inquiry on the ongoing development of these roles and the programme.
This role is a unique opportunity to support other Principals across the region, see and share best practice and experience being a member of the team at Te Mahau. You’ll return to your school with fresh leadership insights and a greater understanding of how the Ministry of Education operates.
The leadership advisor reports to the Regional Director of Education, is in the leadership team and works alongside an integrated team within Te Mahau to support schools and school leaders.
You will also be supported nationally by a Chief Advisor located in Te Pou Ohumahi Mātauranga | Education Workforce and by the network of other leadership advisors.
