James Cook High School is a diverse and vibrant learning community committed to doing the very best for our students. Our current roll of 1,600 students has grown considerably in 2024 and with a further predicted roll growth for 2025.

We are looking for a full-time, permanent English teacher for a term 3 start. Our kura provides education for the multicultural diversity of Manurewa.

James Cook High School is a school with sustained improvements across a wide range of metrics, including improving learning, engagement and achievement.

We are seeking an enthusiastic New Zealand registered teacher of English who demonstrates empathy and understanding towards our students and their culture. The ability to create flexible and ongoing assessment practices for students to develop and undertake multiple pathways is essential.

Successful applicants will demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the New Zealand Curriculum and teaching pedagogies.
