Aorere College has an opportunity for an innovative, experienced teacher of Biology to join our science team as a teacher-in-charge of biology. Additional responsibilities in our Health Science Academy are available to the right candidate. A commitment to raising Māori and Pasefika achievement and restorative practices are essential. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, well resourced secondary school.

This position commences term 2, 2024 or a 2025 start can be negotiated. 

Aorere College is a large multicultural school based in South Auckland. Applicants should have the belief in the ability of young people, a commitment to biculturalism, and embrace a student centred philosophy of teaching.  You will be expected to demonstrate culturally responsive practice and participate in the extra curricula life of school. 

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $51,358 to $90,000 depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once the role is confirmed.
