An opportunity has arisen for an experienced teacher of physics to join our Science Faculty as TIC physics. The successful applicant will have a rich understanding of the curriculum, a growth mindset, the ability to develop and create responsive assessment practices for students and be a collegial and responsive team player.

Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement https://www.education.govt.nz/school/people-and-employment/employment-agreements/collective-agreements/. as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education.

Annual remuneration is dependent on service and qualifications, starting rate of $59027 and top rate of $99216. Hours of work will be full-time as set out in the STCA.

Entry requirements:

To become a secondary teacher, you need to have one of the following at Level 7 or above of the NZQF

• A specialist subject degree followed by a one-year Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) or a Master of Teaching (Secondary).
• A Bachelor of Education (Technology)
• A Bachelor of Teaching conjoint degree (a combination of teaching and specialist subjects).
