Principal/Tumuaki

Karamea Area School is seeking to appoint a Principal to start in term 4 2024, or earlier by negotiation. Our school is nestled in a secluded part of the West Coast of the South Island surrounded by mountains, sea, rivers, and coastal plains.

A  Principal Recruitment Allowance is available for candidates that meet the criteria. 

A successful applicant may be eligible for the Principal Recruitment Allowance (PRA) of up to $50,000.”

Karamea Area School is one of Aotearoa’s few Area Schools, catering to a roll of 88 students from Y1 to 13. Our community is made up of approximately 700 people, thus this role would be ideal for someone accustomed to living in a small, rural, isolated community, or someone looking for a change of pace.
