English teacher

We seek a dynamic, passionate and enthusiastic teacher of English to join our English Faculty.

Applicants should have a current New Zealand teacher registration and a working knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum with the ability to teach Y9-13 the English New Zealand Curriculum consisting of the exploration and making meaning of literature and the creation of meaning through written texts.

The successful candidate will have: 

• a genuine passion for teaching and a clear understanding of NCEA
• experience in differentiated teaching at the junior and senior levels
• ability to be a team player who will work collaboratively to raise student achievement
• knowledge of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ensure Te Reo me ōna Tikanga are upheld
• relational practices to tautoko positive relationships within our kura.

A commitment to Mana ōrite mō Te Mātauranga Māori, and Cultural Responsiveness is also essential.
