Te Kura Tuarua o Tawera | Darfield High School has an opportunity for a teacher who can connect with students and nurture them to excellence in all aspects of Mathematics.

The Maths department is doing great things, connecting with our students and the wider community, and producing amazing results. De-streaming, localising, contextualising, and putting learner engagement at the centre is happening due to the great team and now we’re looking for a teacher to join that team. An ability to teach Calc to NCEA Level 3 is desirable but not essential.

As a semi-rural school close to Christchurch, at the heart of our community, our change programme is based on a strong vision. We’re in the early stages of PB4L and restorative practices, curriculum reform and cultural capability development. We have 830 students, Y7–13, most of whom are very well supported from home and well connected to their school, some of whom need us to adapt our practice to meet their needs.

This role arises due the retirement of our current teacher so it will commence term 1, 2025.

Terms and conditions of employment are covered under the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement. Applicants for this position must be eligible to work in NZ.
