We seek a teacher to join our “sister” centre, Ponsonby Montessori Kindergarten II which opened in February 2023. We have an established reputation for excellence in the Grey Lynn and Ponsonby area. We are inspired by a flexible, modern, blended Montessori approach founded upon Te Whāriki. Our qualified team is driven by genuine relationships, focused on shared leadership and passionate about being in ECE.  You should be collaborative, have a strong sense of belonging, an appreciation of diversity and a desire to grow professionally. We have opted in to KTCA Extended Pay Parity.

We value and care about our children, families and each other, especially teacher well-being. We have a well-established culture at PMK II - embedding ten years of experience as qualified centre owner operators into our newer centre which is almost at full capacity! Our tamariki learn in a mixed-age setting (2-5, 40 children) with Montessori equipment and other open-ended resources to support children's learning through play.

Being privately owned and operated by “teachers”, we grow future leaders by sharing leadership in all aspects of centre life. We believe in happy teachers and whānau through having enough resources and teachers for routines, learning and professional development to occur simultaneously. 

Our blend of Montessori works for teachers who enjoy co-constructing knowledge and who weave purposeful learning into everyday play. We will provide strong mentoring for beginning teachers. We love flexible thinkers

You must be a NZ-resident, ECE-qualified and NZ-certificated teacher. We are AEWV approved but only invite applications from NZ based teachers. The position is full time with an initial 7.30 am start and a combination of “late closes” and “early finishes”, moving to include a swing shift. We close for four weeks at Christmas.
