Are you ready for a change? It could be time to leave the city behind and teach in a small, rural school with students who love being at school, are keen to excel, and enjoy hands-on learning and being active. Just a 20 minute drive south of Rotorua, through rolling pasture, you will arrive at Ngakuru School.
Our school has a strong sense of community. We have approximately 60 amazing tamariki spread across three classes, who are well supported by our dedicated staff and their parents and whānau. We are committed to ensuring that our space is a caring, fun-loving environment for both students and teachers.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our Ngakuru School team to cover maternity leave, from the beginning of term 4, 2024. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to cover the whole 12 months, but we can be flexible around this for the right person. The class currently has 20 students from Y2 to 4.
The successful applicant will be:
Well-versed in the NZ Curriculum and what Kiwi kids need to thrive at school
Able to provide rich and authentic learning opportunities in a supportive, engaging environment
Able to demonstrate inclusive practice when working with students with diverse needs
Strong in forming authentic relationships and collaborating with learners, staff, whānau and the wider community
Willing to lead health/PE and the arts in our small school.
Junior and middle primary school experience and strengths in multi-level teaching would be an advantage.
