Principal

We are a state integrated full primary Catholic school seeking, from term 4 2024, a tumuaki/principal who is a proven faith and education leader. Our new Principal will be committed to the vision “Inspired Learners Empowered to Stand Confidently in their Family, School Community and Church,” and will take the time to find out about “Our Why”, and how this impacts our strategic direction and school culture, so they can contribute to our vision for the future. Our staff will respond to a faith and education leader who will grow them professionally and partner with them collaboratively. As a board, we would welcome a leader who is forward-thinking, understands the aspirations of parents, whānau, students, staff, our parish and the Catholic Church and can enthusiastically lead and embrace change.

Our new tumuaki/principal will:

• Be a passionate, Catholic leader who takes an active role in the parish.
• Safeguard and strengthen the Catholic character and Josephite charism of our school.
• Provide staff and students with authentic opportunities to encounter the person of Jesus Christ.
• Be relational, visionary, fun, and have high emotional intelligence to move our school forward.
• Be collaborative, trustworthy, and understand our community.
• Honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi, value cultural diversity, and maintain our inclusive Catholic culture, promoting Te Reo and Tikanga across the school.
• Have excellent, current curriculum knowledge and the skills to support us to engage in the design of our localised curriculum.
• Prioritise hauora and pastoral care for all.
• Be committed to growing the leadership of self and others and build on the strong, faithfilled cohesive and collaborative staff culture.
• Be skilled in solution-seeking, restorative processes, open, and progressive.

Willingness and ability to participate in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school is a condition of appointment.
